Are you driven, doing relatively well in life, maybe even 'have it all', and yet you find yourself feeling stuck, uninspired by life, and wondering 'IS THIS IT?'
This is what languishing feels like – the opposite of flourishing, or being deeply happy and it’s a key part of our mental well-being. And that is because all humans have an innate need to live a meaningful life, realise their potential, feel loved and connected & be deeply happy.
So if you’re watching this, you might be hoping for a more flourishing life, too. Unfortunately, what we need in order to do so isn’t (yet) taught at school and believe it or not - research shows that we don’t intuitively understand what we need in order to thrive in life.
We chase nice houses or fancy cars, so-called reputable careers, or we think we need to find the right one or have children...only to find years later that somehow all those things never really made us happy after all; and, that we feel as stuck, confused and directionless as ever. Researchers call this miswanting and it’s a key reason why so many of us languish.
It's important to understand that languishing is not a mental illness like depression or anxiety. However, studies show that it makes us more likely to develop one. And, not surprisingly if you know the feeling of languishing, it is about as detrimental to our mental health as being mentally ill.
I believe it’s never too late to start flourishing, to grab life with both hands and start living fully. and I also understand that gaining clarity of what we personally need and want, and making corresponding life changes can seem daunting and challenging, which is why I’m here to support you.
